What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that is placed on the computer or other electronic device ("Device") you use to access our websites, mobile applications or other online media or electronic communication services that we may operate ("Services"). Cookies, which record activity on your Device in connection with these Services, collect information about your access to and use of the Services. We use cookies to improve the use and functionality of our Services and to enhance the user experience of those Services. Your web browser stores cookies on your Device's hard drive for record-keeping purposes (e.g., login information) and, in some cases, for tracking purposes. It is possible to set the browser to refuse cookies. We do not use cookies to collect personal information such as your name. However, we may link information in a cookie to personal information you have provided to us in other ways (for example, registration on a website).
What types of cookies do we use?
When you access our Services, different types of cookies may be placed on your Device. They can be classified according to their source, technical characteristics and purpose. These categories are not mutually exclusive, and a cookie may belong to more than one of the following categories.
The different cookie sources
Cookies from an internal source (internal cookies)
Internal cookies are deposited on your Device directly by us and can only be read by our Services. They may be session cookies or persistent cookies (see description below). In particular, we use internal cookies to speed up the login process, to enhance the experience of our Services, to perform internal analysis and audience measurement, and to tailor our Services or offerings to your interests.
Cookies from an external source (third party cookies)
Third party cookies are placed on your Device by third parties who provide services integrated with our own Services. They are used for audience measurement and to improve the relevance of the content of our Services.
The different types of cookies
Session cookies
Session cookies are cookies that are deposited on your Device during a browsing session and cease to apply when you close your browser. We and our partners use session cookies for a variety of reasons, including to manage and measure your access to and use of our Services during a single browsing session and to help you use the Services more effectively. For example, session cookies help remind our Services that your Device is logged in.
Persistent cookies
Persistent cookies are deposited on your Device during a browsing session and are retained for a set period of time. In particular, persistent cookies allow our Services to recognise your Device when you open a new browser session to access the Services, and thus ensure a faster connection. We and our partners also use persistent cookies for analytical purposes.
Purpose of the cookies used by our Services:
Technical cookies
Technical cookies allow us to identify your Device and to know that you are a repeat user; they also allow us to save the preferences you have set during previous accesses to our Services. Technical cookies allow us to provide you with content tailored to your interests and avoid you having to enter the same information each time you use our Services.
Advertising cookies
Advertising cookies allow us to personalise the content and advertisements that are visible when you access the Services, or that are displayed in third party services to promote our Services.
Social network cookies
Social network cookies allow us to check whether you are connected to the social network services of these third parties (Facebook, Twitter, Google+...)
Targeting cookies
Targeting cookies allow us to target (for email campaigns, for enrichment of our database) the User Device, a posteriori or in real time.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies allow us to track traffic on our Services (whether to learn about the use of the Services or to improve the functionality of the Services) and to measure and verify the effectiveness of our online interactive content, features, advertising and other communications.
Your rights
We may, from time to time, need your consent to place certain types of cookies on your Device. You give us this consent when you use our Services.
Your choices regarding cookies
Cookies are managed in different ways. Most web browsers are set by default to automatically accept cookies. By changing this setting on your browser, you can block cookies either automatically or based on their origin, or be notified when cookies are being sent to your Device. For more information, see the next paragraph, "How do I set my browser to accept or reject cookies?
Allowing cookies
You can choose whether or not to allow cookies to be stored on your Device. You can set your preferences and change them free of charge at any time from your browser settings. If you have set your browser to accept cookies on your Device, the cookies present in the pages and content viewed may be stored temporarily in a dedicated location on your Device. They can only be read by the sender.
Rejecting cookies
If you refuse to accept cookies on your Device, or if you delete the cookies already stored, you will no longer be able to use certain features of our Services. For example, this choice will prevent you from accessing content or services available only to logged-in users. In addition, we and our service providers will not be able to identify the type of browser used by your Device and ensure technical compatibility or choice of language and display. We cannot be held responsible for any reduction in the effectiveness of our Services if we are unable to store or read the necessary cookies because you have refused or deleted them.
